Clinical Supervision

Do you work in a profession where you take responsibility for people's wellbeing? Are you in need of professional support, but aren't sure where to turn? Are you feeling burnt out, over-loaded or unsure of best practice? Supervision might be exactly what you need, and is a requirement for all practising counsellors and psychotherapists.

Supervision can benefit anyone who takes professional responsibility for people, either privately or in an organisation – counsellors, trainers, course leaders, couple therapists, physios, consultants, healers, health care professionals (to name but a few) – as it offers a private, empathic space where both work-related issues and personal issues triggered in the workplace can be clarified and worked through.

In addition to professionals who contact me privately, I provide supervision for the teams at:
Advice Place – Edinburgh University Students' Asscn.
Social Bite – Social Impact Team

I believe that supervision is most effective when a trusting, respectful relationship develops between supervisor and supervisee/s, where success is celebrated and challenges are looked at collaboratively and non-judgementally. I’ve really benefitted from excellent supervision myself and have developed a deep respect for my supervisors. The supervision I’ve experienced has helped me to trust myself and to grow and deepen my skills as a therapist and I really enjoy supporting my own supervisees as they do the same.

I have a diploma in Transpersonal and Integrative Supervision and work with individuals and groups of up to 4 people.

Please contact me to find out more or to arrange an appointment. I offer supervision via Zoom (a free, better quality, confidential alternative to Skype). My fee is £65 per 50-55 min session.

Testimonials

“Angela has been an invaluable support to me for supervision, her calm considered approach plus her wealth of knowledge has been extremely helpful.

“I particularly like that she gently encourages me to step outside my comfort zone which in itself is great learning.

“I have no hesitation in recommending Angela to anyone who is looking for a supervisor.”

“Angela has been an amazing supervisor. I enjoyed being her supervisee as she has fulfilled all her duties with me as a supervisor by listening and paying attention to my queries and difficulties. Angela has always shown that she understands where I am coming from as a trainee Counsellor by empathising and had shown sympathy when needed. She explained everything really well and in a calm manner with patience. She had always acknowledged my efforts and hard work, as well as encouraged me to do better by stepping out of my comfort zone, which automatically gave me the confidence to do so. Overall, I enjoyed working with Angela and would not think twice to have her as my supervisor again!”
